Kai Tak Cruise Terminal

Kai Tak, Hong Kong

Occupying a 7.6-ha waterfront site at the southern end of the former Kai Tak runway in East Kowloon, the 800m long CTB is the key to developing Hong Kong into a regional cruise hub in Asia by enhancing the city’s position in global tourism. The two terminal berths were designed to accommodate the largest cruise liner (up to 220,000 gross tonnes) in the world, whilst the building itself offers ample space for efficient passenger check-in, waiting and baggage handling. The landscaped roof garden was designed for public access and enjoyment. The project has obtained a number of awards including those from HKGBC, HKIE and HKILE. WT is the Lead Consultant and Executive Architect for the project in partnership with Foster + Partners as the Design Architect.
